As I sit enclosed, within these four white walls, I feel rock and roll. Rock and roll through the very fabric of reality. What you do is you say something, shout it from the rooftops of your head, blow it up to proportion and make it sound great.
Okay, about the scene right here right now in the city we call Brisbane. It's going pretty weirdly at the moment. Like what do I say about it for a scene report? Well, the scene died back in about 2025 when Project Punk died, Antidismal became an indie pop circus show, and Deadtrigger Records, well, finally pulled the trigger and became a corporate entity jetset on fame.
How you become a better writer, a better doer at your craft is by creating shit in very high volume. Like just creating for the sake of creation, doing for the sake of doing, for the sake of working up your writing muscles.
The fact is that in a way the only option is raw power. It always has been. It's a healing hand when you need a friend, it's god a magic touch and it just works, it gives you answers when you need it. Raw power is something you can only unlock through sheer brute force and punk rock and listening to the stooges at midnight. What you do is you just sit and write, stream of consciousness style. The scene at the moment that is just weird. Like, there's no 'uniting force' that creates gigs everyone goes to anymore. It used to be that Gormless Records or Project Punk would do shit like that, but it has kinda dried up if you know what I mean, because the people running them either got tired of the world war 3 that is the scene, or they just decided to do, some other bullshit.
You don't try and pussy out, you ram through with raw power. Raw vengeance and swagger. You know like Liam Gallgher, raw power. You just materialise shit out of thin air through applying the Be Here Now method. Repeat the anthemic chorus, make it sound as colossal as possible.
Like, take a listen to Raw Power by The Stooges, shit's all over the place, but it's one of the all time legendary albums of all time because it's just straight up raw.
