A Guide To Abandoned Places In Brisbane

In Brisbane, there are many abandoned places, or 'bandos'. I take no responsibility for any damages incurred or anything you may experience from exploring these places. This is purely for educational purposes. As of time of writing in January 2025, these places should still be abandoned

Overells Building, Fortitude Valley

Located at 2 Overells Lane, this building has been abandoned since the 1980s, and is owned by a landbanking company. Security is present, and going on weekdays is not advised, as nearby buildings will alert security if they see people. There exists a great video by the YouTube channel 'Brisbae' that explains how to get into this place and what you may find.

Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, Indooroopilly

This is less of an abandoned place, and more of a popular hang out spot for alternative people and urbex explorers alike. This spot is a large complex located below the carpark of the shopping centre, which is barely used and is an explorer's delight. To get to this spot, there is a stairway located not far away from the bus interchange. There is a ventilation shaft and a metal area there. To access the area, you climb down the rocks near the platform, and there you go.

842 Waterworks Road, The Gap

This spot is an abandoned mansion, with great graffiti art. Not much to say apart from it's a good spot. Very popular.

Inala Skate Rink, Inala

Located at 54 Serviceton Avenue, this place is dilapidated and is a beginner's spot due to it's popularity. Great graffiti.

144 Wadeville Street, Heathwood

An abandoned house.

43 Henley Street, Coopers Plains

93 Logan Road, Woolloongabba

Abandoned hotel, not much is left of it

22 MacGregor Terrace, Bardon
