It's February, now, I've got some interviews with some very special people, and that along with some other stuff will be made into another issue, there's just so much content, and I promise I will write and collate the issue soon! It's just that, tonight, as of the time I'm writing this, I just got my mind blown by an epic as performance at Ithaca Hall, so much so that I had to write it down as soon as possible. It's like there has been an explosion and massive revival in the scene as of late.
If you think this issue is gonna be great, just wait for the next one. We've got a special interview with a really interesting 'band', well 'band' doesn't really describe how deep their musical ambitions are, it's more like a concept of some kind, along with an interview with a person who is really, really important to the scene, and a local musician who more or less encapsulates the metal/pseudo-alternative scene that's been popping up lately, and a review of a gig that comes very close to being just as insane as this issue's Insanest Gig Ever.
This issue and that issue pretty much make up a double issue, and that means February is gonna have two issues. They're separate because this one's geared towards the revolutionary raw, hard rock and roll 'scene' of sorts that just blew my fucking socks off, while the other one's more geared towards the alternative/shoegaze/dreampop/metal/whatever you want to call it scene that deserves its own issue.
Like, holy shit, just the first two months of this year has already felt like a half a year for me. It must be because of how much I've experienced in such a little period of time. This is by far a golden age for me, and I feel like it's a golden age for the scene as well, well at least I feel this way as of right now.
I feel so much more social, so much more... like me?? So much more empathetic. Music sounds better. Life feels fucking awesome and like it's the greatest thing to experience. My mind has just been opened up so much, so many things just make sense now, I feel like the king of viceroy, it's not a real term, that's just how I feel, the phrase came from a misheard lyric in a Violent Soho song, and that phrase been stuck in my head since. I sure hope this feeling is not just gonna disappear. I want to feel this way forever—forever and ever.
